Can I challenge YOU?

How many books have you read? How many messages have you listened to? How many insights have you received from one source or the other?

How many of the things you read, how many of the messages you heard, how many of those insights did you put to action?

Weeks before the end of 2018, my mind wandered back and forth on the thousands and one book I have read in my lifetime. I have been called a library; with the many books I own and have read.

Notwithstanding, what kept ruminating in my mind, was what transformation has taken place within me, with the many thousand books I have read?

Of course, over the years, I have undergone many changes. There are many books I can point to, that helped in directing some of the positive changes I experienced, no doubt about it.

However, I also considered those other books, that required me to challenge myself a bit more.  Those books that the action plans needed more effort. They needed more because they were going to be the most impactful.

The ones if I considered it clearly and thoroughly, they were going to be the one that will genuinely turn my caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. But I never did take action. If I did, perhaps I abandoned ship midway.

So now we are in 2019, and just a few weeks to the end of 2018, I decided that I was going to Stretch myself. I was going to give myself a STRETCH CHALLENGE, and my stretch challenge was going to be what I have coined, ‘The Application of Knowledge Challenge’.

The idea here is, as I know I would never stop reading, being a complete book and knowledge addict, I was going to try something new, I will do things differently.

So every time I read a book, an article, hear a word, a message, from whatever medium, provided that what I have listened to or read resonates with me, I am going to act it out.

If it’s just a line, a sentence, two words, one word, even a punctuation mark, provided it strikes a chord in me, I am going to respond by doing whatever it is telling me.

I have decided that for a change, I no longer want to be the assimilator of words, I want to be the transformer that brings those words to life.

So by the end of 2019, I am expecting myself to look and feel completely different. As I sit and type, I already see a new and completely changed me.

Now my question is, can I challenge you? Are you willing to take this ride, this journey with me?

We don’t have to keep assimilating knowledge and do very little or nothing with them.

There are so many things out there written, recorded, painted for our wisdom. However, the only way to operate in understanding is to actualise those words, those audios, those pictures.

Bring it to life in you so we can indeed see that you understood.

So if you are with me and are interested in taking this challenge, I challenge you to post it on your social media platform. Hashtag #AbiscopeKnowledgeApplicationChallenge or if you just what to do a stretch challenge, where you wish to commit to stretching yourself in any area this year and want a little accountability, you can hashtag #AbiscopeStretchChallenge. Also @abiopall me.

I learnt from one of my mentors recently, that if you want to achieve something, tell someone or others about it. By doing that, you commit yourself to fulfil your goals because you must honour your words, you are accountable for your utterance.

I have now made myself accountable to YOU my readers.

Please feel free to ask me how it is going.

If you want to be accountable to me also, post, hashtag as stated above,  @ me too, so I can see you. And I know that we are in it together,  fellow accountable partner.

Have a brilliant week.
