Don’t be too attached – podcast

I started writing when I was 12 years old, inspired by a school friend at the time…

This week on my podcast, I’m talking about ATTACHMENT!

How attached are you to the things or people in your  life?

HAPPY LISTENING!

On point Abi! Thanks for this podcast.
We must accept what comes, enjoy it whilst it lasts, and allow it to leave when it’s time…..
And the example you gave about your husband having a vasectomy and then meeting someone else in the future, reminds me of this quote below:

“Try not to confuse attachment with love. Attachment is about fear and dependency and has more to do with love of self than love of another. Love without attachment is the purest love because it isn’t about what others can give you because you’re empty. It is about what you can give others because you’re already full.” Yasmin Mogahed

Thank you for this eye opening podcast, you spoke directly to me. Life should be enjoyed to the fullest without attaching ourselves to people and things that can be replaced.

Wow….what a learning experience you went through. in agreement with this podcast, just like i always remind myself, if it doesnt kill you, it will make you stronger. nothing in life is worth dying for. I remember my mum buried 2 of her children within a year, without being told, you can imagine her grief and the agony she passed through…but her life goes on thereafter. I dont believe there is such thing as ” cant do without” these phrase or words have been used by many people and many time, not surprise however seeing these sets of people even doing much better. you’d want to ask yourself why or how, in my own opinion, because they have been so attached to a person or thing, so greatly that they don’t function to their full potential. it is okay to have people that we can rely on, however, we shouldn’t be over reliant on them.. thanks abiscope for this piece
